What Is Living Lab at UNO?

Living Lab aptly describes the kinds of service learning experiences available in the post-Katrina New Orleans region.  Life, discovery, recovery, and rebirth are in progress in the region and The University of New Orleans is at the forefront.   Living Lab is not a time-limitedStudents enjoy the "Biggest Crawfish Boil in the World" - one of many unique cultural experiences in the New Orleans region. experience.  It is a living experience that will continue well beyond Katrina since our recovery and restoration will be ongoing for many years. 

With its rich historical traditions and cultural gumbo, as well as a constantly changing environment, the New Orleans region was a living laboratory prior to Katrina and will remain so for decades to come.
